Web Apps & SaaS / Service 04

Web appsbuilt to last.

Sterango builds dashboards, internal tools, client portals, real-time platforms, and SaaS products for Dallas companies and teams elsewhere. We document the architecture, data model, and deployment process so another engineer can understand the product without reverse-engineering it.

What you get

What goes into the build.

01

Modern, Sane Stack

React, TypeScript, Next.js, Laravel, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis. Boring, well-documented technology that any future engineer can pick up.

02

Real-Time When You Need It

WebSockets and Server-Sent Events support live dashboards, collaborative editing, and real-time scoring.

03

Auth & Permissions

OAuth, SSO, multi-tenant architecture, role-based access control, and audit logs are planned with the data model.

04

API-First Architecture

A documented REST or GraphQL API supports future integrations, mobile apps, and third-party tools.

05

Subscription Billing & Multi-Tenant

Stripe integration, plan management, usage-based billing, customer portals. SaaS economics handled from day one.

06

Cloud-Native Deployment

Vercel, AWS, DigitalOcean, or your existing infrastructure. CI/CD, automated backups, monitoring, and uptime alerts.

Why Sterango

Built around your requirements.

No-code tools can test an early idea. Customer data, permissions, billing, custom workflows, and third-party integrations can eventually exceed what those tools handle cleanly.

A custom application costs more up front and gives you control over the workflow, data model, integrations, and infrastructure. We scope those decisions against the product you expect to operate.

How it works

A clear path from first conversation to launch.

01

Scoping & Architecture

We map the user flows, data models, integrations, and technical architecture, then provide a documented scope and quote.

02

Prototype & Validate

We prototype the highest-risk parts first, such as authentication, real-time features, or payments, and test the assumptions before the full build.

03

Build in Sprints

2-week sprints with demos. You see progress every two weeks and can redirect early if priorities shift.

04

Launch, Maintain, Scale

CI/CD setup, monitoring, on-call coverage if you want it, and ongoing feature work as your product grows.

Common questions

Questions we get asked.

How much does custom software development cost?

Custom software starts at $20,000 and is scoped in phases rather than quoted as one number. The first phase is a narrow, working version of the core workflow, priced on its own, so you see it running before committing to the rest. Anyone quoting a single fixed number before understanding the workflow is guessing.

How much does it cost to develop a custom app?

For a first working version covering one real workflow, budget from $20,000. What moves the number is how many user types it serves, what it has to integrate with, and whether it needs to work offline or in real time. A single-role internal tool is a fraction of a multi-tenant product with billing.

Is custom software cheaper than off-the-shelf?

Not up front, and often not for years. Off-the-shelf wins until the subscription cost scales with your headcount, or the tool cannot do the one thing your business actually does differently. Custom pays off when you are paying per seat for software your team fights, or running the real workflow in spreadsheets alongside it.

How is a web application different from a website?

A website explains your business. An application does work — dashboards, portals, booking systems, internal tools. If people log in and get something done, it is an application, and it is scoped and priced differently.

Do you need a finished spec before starting?

No. Most clients arrive with a problem rather than a specification. We scope it in phases so you see something working early instead of approving a large document and waiting months to find out whether it was right.

Can you integrate with the software we already use?

Usually. Anything with an API is straightforward, and plenty of things without one can still be worked with. Integrations are where estimates drift most, so we identify them before quoting rather than after.

What happens after launch?

Applications need more ongoing attention than websites — dependencies, security updates, and changes as your process changes. That is covered by the same monthly arrangement as our sites, scaled to what the application needs.
